Segatori, autor del mural más grande del mundo Zoomin Latam A street mural in Buenos Aires may now be the longest in the world to be painted by a single artist, Alfredo Segatori, who Monday (December 29) continues to add things to his massive masterpiece. The mural is longer than the current Guinness Record holder located in Mazatlan, Mexico but has not been confirmed yet by Guinness. The colourful mural, measuring in at over 2000 square metres (21,528 square feet), winds its way along the shores of the Matanza-Riachuelo River in the Barracas neighbourhood of the South American capital. Art enthusiast and Director of Buenos Aires Streetart, Matt Fox Tucker, started his company to take tourists and anyone interested on tours of interesting, off the beaten track art locations in Buenos Aires: "In the city of Buenos Aires there are lots of different barrios, or neighbourhoods, where you can find really big murals. There are international street artists that come here from all over the world that are very well known and local artists as well that are painting really large surfaces, murals on buildings, and we also organize projects to paint houses, buildings etcetera, and the idea really is to promote Buenos Aires through the artists and take people to these spectacular places where you can see these amazing interventions," said Tucker. The artist Alfredo Segatori said: "I try to paint the situations that people are in from the places I go. I try to absorb the energy of the spaces and then with a twist of a screw (artists' touch) I paint that situation always with a lot of respect to the place and, well, the act of doing art in a public place compromises you at that place and that moment," Segatori said after painting Deposit, a local dog, on a wall. euronews discover is a window into the diversity of life around the globe, bringing you reports about nature, animals, travel and amazing events - every video is a destination.
